Artist Statement

My passion for the natural world and its sacred beauty resonates through my artistic practice. The connection I've forged with my past, especially the formative summers spent on my grandparents' land, is a sound foundation for my work. These moments shaped not only my love for nature but also my fundamental beliefs about caring for the environment.

My approach to ceramics, blending functional and sculptural forms, reflects a deep respect for the materials I use. By experimenting with native clays and aggregates, I honor the very earth from which these materials come. This exploration serves as a tangible reminder of the importance of sustainability and resourcefulness, values I learned from my grandparents.

I draw inspiration from my interactions with plants, stones, animals and my dreams this interplay between the observed, the imagined, and the sacred, is way to articulate the invisible threads connecting humanity to the natural world to serve as a poignant reminder of the spiritual ties we have with the environment.

With celebration and reverence for nature, I encourage personal reflection in nurturing a deeper understanding of our role within the beautiful, complex tapestry of life. And collective action towards a more harmonious coexistence with our environment. Through my art, I am exploring the beauty and intricacies of the natural world and advocating for a worldview that recognizes our interconnectedness.
